Hello from my heart to yours.
I hope you are all safe, healthy and spending this time in isolation to rediscover life in a new way. Times can be scary when the future is unstable and your comfort level is challenged, but it’s through these challenges that we humans continue to grow and enlighten our beings.
Since my creative soul escaped the shackles of corporate slavery last year, I’ve been busy. I started back at SAE in February, and have spent the past 13 weeks pouring myself into learning all I can about audio engineering, electronic music production and music theory. Multitasking all this information was a challenge at first but thankfully I had prior knowledge to make the transition into being a producer and engineer easier.
My only focus for this course is to succeed, and to help that along I made the decision to remove distractions like social media. One of the bonuses of that decision has been that I’ve had the time to cover copious amounts of music theory, modular synthesis, mixing and mastering, orchestral production, and most importantly, how to get the yowsers out of your whompus.
For alot of people, Covid19 came at the worst possible time. A new year, a new decade and as it turns out, a new problem to challenge life as we know it. For me, it came at a perfect time as my study program continued on. Although the last trimester was online, this hasn’t stopped brains from working and hearts creating.
However, too much isolation from the world isn’t healthy so I thought it’s time to show my face to the world once more and share some of the sights and sounds of my journey so far. Over the coming weeks, I look forward to doing a better job of being socially accessible during this global reset. I’ll be doing this on my public Facebook artist page, Instagram and Twitter, so please follow me there to see and hear where this journey is taking me.

To kick things off, here is a sneak peak at one of the songs I wrote and produced or an assignment at SAE. Entitled ‘Afterglow’, this piece came about after studying classical music composition combined with my love of modern composers like Hans Zimmer, Blake Neely, Joel Beving and Ludovico Einaudi. I’ll be releasing the full version over the coming weeks with more new music including a deep house track and lots more in an EP to be released later in the year.
Until next time, stay safe and always live life lovingly,
J x
