What is šokti and how do I pronounce it?

šokti is a Lithuanian word that means 'dance', and as an EDM collective we produce dance music. So it was a natural fit. As for the correct pronunciation, it approximately sounds like "shok-ti".

Who is šokti?

Managed via MeilėMusic, šokti is a collective of musicians, singers, lyricists, composers and visual artists all working together under one brand to create music, visuals and explorative artworks. šokti allows artists to explore their own growth by nurturing interests in other genres of music (such as EDM) that may not be compatible with their current brands; allowing creative energy to align or diverge as needed.

How did šokti come about?

In 2023 after releasing his EDM album 'Portals', Jase Ess was inspired to create a brand that would allow him to release music as an EDM producer and vocalist, while still maintaining his personal artistic adventures as Jase Ess, aimed more at electronic, orchestral and indie/folk compositions.

Since then, šokti has developed into a collective working banner under which artists can work with Jase Ess on releasing their projects, or as solo EDM releases as Jase Ess.

Isn't your logo a bit similar to a marijuana leaf?

While our inspiration was more focused on future tech, eye of protection and power through the use of colours, it has been noted that if the logo was green, it might be a different story.
