I fell in love with an Island girl
In a land not to far away.
We looked deep into each others eyes
and we talked the night away.
She held me close when I was cold
and pushed my fears aside.
We spoke of future plans together,
she discovered who I was inside.
I followed her around the world
to let her follow her dream.
Along the way I lost my soul
now all is not what it seems.
Words went flying and fists did too,
falling saltwater cant stop the pain.
We knew all we wanted was love,
it was all we had to gain.
She put another boy in front of me
thats when I saw the end.
Threw your life over the balcony
I'd just lost my only friend.
I cant describe the months that passed
as things are still a blur.
So dumbfounded when I'd see your eyes
the last thing we wanted was hurt.
No matter what we said or did
to try and repair what was.
It ended up in misery
with no excuses, just because.
You left for that land not far away
your heart needed to start again.
I miss you more than everything,
I wish I could call you; friend
Im still on this island
Waiting to return to life.
Those future plans now pushed aside
but my life is free from strife.
Now time has passed and the pain has gone
I hope to see your face one day.
The memory of you still lingers on
It will never fade away.
Until that time, my life is fine,
I know who I am again.
Im stronger now than I was before,
so from me, its Goodbye my Island friend.
