Three Things...

Tomorrow I head into surgery to have this cancer on my throat removed.
Here are three things you didn’t expect to happen after finding out you have cancer:
1. Friends
You will quickly find out who the low vibrational people in your life are who promise to be supporting and end up deserting you. This situation has allowed the flux of friendships and I am so grateful for the positive angels who have presented themselves to be kind, loving and genuine.
2. Shifting Priorities
Cancer really makes you evaluate a-lot in your life and in this journey, you quickly shift priorities. Things that I once desired or chased no longer attract me, as the most important factor and the most valued currency in my life is time.
Time spent making memories. Time doing things you’ve been putting off. Time spent with friends and family.
You might have all the money in the world, go to flashy restaurants, events and all the fake attraction the world demands you desire and post online just fall aside once you realise time is all that is important in life.
3. Speaking the Truth
I have felt that in life, I am sometimes muted because of what you do and how you want the world to perceive you. That falls aside when you realise your time is limited and you no longer need to mute yourself for the comfort of others.
Direct honesty is best and really shows you that those who matter dont mind, and those who mind don’t matter.
Keep shouting the truth always.
4. Reconnecting with Faith.
Ive been reading the Bible a bit lately. I have always kept my faith to believe in something rather than nothing. This journey has been revealing - I have learnt that there is no point praying to God for help or guidance when you refuse to pick up the Bible and read His word. It’s literally right there in front of you.
This doesn’t mean I am going to be at my local church with the happy clappies; it means that I am rediscovering one of the most important historical and religious manifestos of all time.
When I scream at the world, I just remind myself that all of this is in God’s hands and I need to trust the plan and the process.
While there are more, this has become a large post and I just wanted to highlight the most important ones. I know each persons journey is different and I hope that whatever time we have left on earth is spent making happy and positive memories. Jase x
